Who we are
Who we are
Hisani Initiative is a nonprofit organization that seeks to catalyze community-led transformation by creating opportunities for children, youth, and women to learn, earn, and lead with dignity. We exist to challenge systemic barriers, foster equity, and build resilient communities.
We support children to stay in school, empower youth and women in Eastern Africa by co-creating solutions that break the cycle of poverty, amplify community-led change and build a future rooted in dignity.
We don't aim to fix communities but rather partner with them to identify and dismantle the root causes of their vulnerabilities. We therefore strive to strengthen community protection structures, promotes positive parenting, and integrates climate-smart enterprise into grassroots economies.
Unlike models that impose solutions from the outside, we start with what communities already know, do, and value. We walk alongside them, amplifying their strengths and co-developing solutions that are not just sustainable but self-propelling.
