The Challenge
Millions of youth and women in sub‑Saharan Africa face chronic unemployment and underemployment, with over 70% of youth working in insecure or informal jobs. Many young people lack the skills, capital, or networks to participate meaningfully in the economy, particularly in rural areas where opportunities are limited. Women, who make up a majority of the informal workforce, often face additional barriers such as gender discrimination, limited asset ownership, and unpaid care work. Climate shocks, market disruptions, and economic instability further erode livelihoods and deepen poverty cycles especially for those already on the margins.
How we help
We believe in unlocking potential by creating sustainable income opportunities that restore dignity, agency, and hope. We work with youth and women to build practical skills, launch green and inclusive enterprises, and strengthen their resilience to economic shocks.
Our focus areas
Promote income-generating activities through training, mentorship, and start-up support.
Support women and youth to participate in green and climate-smart enterprises.
Strengthen financial inclusion and access to savings and credit.
Build resilience through cooperative models and market access linkages.
